As two of hip-hop’s most respected and acclaimed solo artists, they joined forces in 1998 on their groundbreaking debut album ‘Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star’. This project cemented their status as standard-bearers of socially conscious rap, combining sharp political commentary, Afrocentric philosophy and poetic wordplay with soulful, jazz-infused beats. On May 1st, Nacht van de Arbeid reclaims the dance floor. While commercialism continues to erode Amsterdam's nightlife, Paradiso opts for radical accessibility on Labor Day, with an entrance fee of just one euro.
The Main Hall of Paradiso serves as the headquarters of this resistance. No early-bird tickets, service fees, or guest list, but a sweaty techno marathon for everyone.
